Much needed snow - We got some more much needed snow this week. Most of it stayed in the mountains, which means the roads we had to drive were not adversely affected. We need snow for our water supply and I am grateful that we had a storm that brought as much as two feet to the nearby mountains.
Helpful app - My blogger friend Billie Jo, over at Afternoon Coffee and Evening Tea, suggested this app, DARE, to help me with anxiety. I downloaded it and the breathing exercises did help me. I am grateful for friends with good ideas that help.
Getting out of lawsuit - One of the things that has been fueling my anxiety the past few weeks is a lawsuit our community HOA (HomeOwners Association) is involved in. It's a very long, complicated story that I won't go into, but Charly spent several hours on a zoom call with a court mediator last week and after that a few emails to several attorneys, we were able to get out of the lawsuit, which we did not want to be party to, and which had the potential to be very costly to us. I am grateful that we were finally able to get out of this ongoing court case.
ACT over - The ACT (American College Test) was last Tuesday at school. Everything went well. I was heartened when a number of my students told me that they felt prepared for the English and reading sections of the test because I had done a lot of test prep assignments in class to get them ready. I am grateful the test is over, and I am glad I could help my students prepare to do well on a test that could affect their future.
Colleagues - Most of the other teachers in the building where I teach (that's my hallway in the picture) are friendly and helpful. I am very grateful for that.
